Ideas For Presenting The Wedding Rings
How do you present a wedding ring?
That could be the first question that pops up in your mind. Traditionally, the Best Man is given the responsibility of keeping the rings safe and then the honour of presenting them to the bride and groom at the Altar.
When brothers or best friends share this moment there is usually emotion and brothership, if this is who the Groom chooses it will certainly be a special moment for them both. But I want to share a special moment with my readers that I encountered during one of my ceremonies.
All was taken care of by the wedding planner, who organised the whole wedding until the very last detail. So far so good. I took my position just in front of the gazebo and waited for the wedding couple to show up. The groom then appeared (without the wedding bouquet) and came to me.
“A slight change of plans, he whispered. The rings will arrive by a donkey”
The wedding rings presented by a donkey
I’ve seen my fair share of wedding ring presentations, but a donkey heading to us with the rings was new to me. We went along with the ceremony and at the time the rings were needed I popped the question “who will present the rings”?
Silence……..and then the sound of horseshoes filled the theatre. Slowly but sure the donkey was led into the wedding party. The wedding rings were carefully placed around his neck with a coloured ribbon. We took the rings and proceeded with the wedding ceremony.
A moment not to forget.
The wedding bouquet arived in time
Above I mentioned that the groom came to the gazebo without the wedding bouquet. The groom entrusted me that it has always been his wish to present the wedding bouquet to his partner the moment she would stand in front of him. But in all the confusion of the wedding preparations, this one slipped! There was little time left, the music was already playing indicating that the bride was on her way.
I tapped the groom on his shoulder……wait a moment! I quickly went over to the wedding planner, holding the wedding bouquet, and brought it to the groom. A sigh of relief came over his face.
